About Us
Blush & Borrowed was founded on the idea that everyone should pursue what they love in life. In our case, we love event planning and vintage picking! Here's our story! After both getting married in 2017, we had TONS of thoughtful decor pieces selected over our engagements and it seemed like a total shame to throw them in a basement, never to be seen again. Why not provide these ONCE used items to other brides to help trim the never ending stream of costs?! That's where it all started.
In both of our homes, HGTV is on regularly - similar to in your house, we're sure! Does Joanna Gaines ring a bell?! Another hobby of ours is vintage picking, so in addition to collecting gently used decor items from brides in the Chicagoland area, we started going to local antique shops. Our mission is to collect every beautiful dessert platter, gold candlestick, vintage window...you name it, we have our eyes on it! We continue to add to our collection of rental decor items, hence, the name Blush and Borrowed.
Oh yeah, did we mention that we went to college together (Roll Birds)! We then landed a job at the same agency in the events industry and now have almost 10 years of experience planning national, experiential marketing programs and special events for brands like Microsoft, Illinois Lottery, Venetian of Las Vegas, Nike SB, Jim Beam, Advocate Health Care and EcoTools, to name a few. We have a strong passion for events and can not wait to bring our expertise and passion to our clients.

Vicky Lewis
Hi friends! It’s me Vicky Lewis, I live in Mount Prospect IL (4 blocks away from Alicia) with my husband Doug and my aussie/cattle rescue dog Dakota. When I’m not busy planning a billion events, whether it be for work or for fun, I love spending time at the lake with my family. Give me a boat that floats and a white claw, and I’m as happy as can be. I also love taking on home renovation projects with my hubby and taking my dog on long walks. You can also catch me at every country concert I can possibly attend and i’m a Swiftie at heart. Blush and Borrowed is my passion and I get so much joy creating dream weddings for our clients.

Hello! I am Melanie Galich, and I live in the south suburbs with my husband Kevin, son Jackson, and our mini goldendoodle Easton. Event planning is my passion, and I am lucky enough to pursue this passion assisting clients in planning their dream event alongside my college friends Vicky & Alicia. When I am not planning an event, you will find me teaching high school math, spending time with family and friends, working out, or reading on my porch rocking chairs. I value finding outlets to clear my head for some good rest and relaxation! The teacher in me brings personality, creativity, strong organization, and attention to detail to all my events. Blush & Borrowed has brought me so many experiences meeting new people, and I look forward to partnering with you for your future event!
